Marce Collington - Joins Management Team

We return to action after a week’s break and continue to look to put together a squad of players that will help us win games and move us up the table. There is no doubting the commitment of the team but we simply haven’t been able to make the most of some very good performances, losing games when we have been dominating possession for long periods or from winning positions. To help we have been working with Marce Collington in recent weeks and he has now officially joined the club working alongside Mark Nervais and Gary Burkett.

Marce is an experienced striker who came through West Hams famed academy having signed for them at the age of eleven. He became the youngest player to play reserves, aged 15 and made numerous first team squads, although no appearances. He spent nine years with the Hammers before moving on to feature at clubs including Preston, Crawley Town, Southend, Thurrock and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Marce retired from playing in 2010 due to a few serious injuries and turned his attention to management and coaching and as a UEFA B licence holder Marce coached at various pro academies, managed Harlow Towns U23's as well as assisting Danny Chapman with their first team.

We are also pleased to announce Darren Mitchell and Brad Gillham have moved across to assist the U25 Development squad which will be headed up by Roger Butler. Tony Armitage has taken up an opportunity with Potton FC and we would like to put on record our thanks for all his efforts.

We are putting huge effort into the long term future of the club, and feel sure this will be reflected in positive results on the field.

Annual Bonfire and Firework Display

Stotfold Football Club would like to thank everyone who supported the recent Bonfire & Firework Display at Roker Park. It was another terrific bonfire and excellent firework display.

Special thanks go to all those who helped in any way to make this annual community celebration a success.

Stotfold have moved swiftly to appoint Mark Nervais as first team manager after Julian Robinson announced he wanted to step down from the role after last week's loss with MK Galacticos.

Club Chairman Phil Pateman commented, 'Despite compiling a good squad of young players, results have not been as expected and Julian alone concluded that the club would be served in making a management change early thus giving the incumbent the opportunity build on the squad we have with the addition of some experienced players from the area'.

He added 'In order to effect a seamless transition Julian offered to take the reins for Saturday's FA Vase game with West Essex and did it with the utmost professionalism. The players were informed of Julian's resignation and introduced to Mark at training on Tuesday. He takes charge immediately in preparation for the league visit to Cockfosters at the weekend'.

Mark has worked with Evo Stick Central Kempston Rovers both as Development Manager and assistant to first team boss Jimmy Stoyles in their UCL Premier Division promotion year. He holds a level 2 coaching badge and is widely respected. His extensive knowledge of the local football scene at this level will be invaluable in bolstering the squad and intends working with the existing Management team.

Stotfold are delighted to announce the appointment of Julian Robinson as first team manager.

Julian has extensive knowledge of the SSML and enjoyed success with Tring Athletic when as first team coach they were runners up to Chalfont St Peter, and as two spells as manager finishing in the top 10, 4 out of 5 seasons, winning the Herts Charity Cup and reaching 2 other finals in the process. More recently he assisted Micky Hazard at Hadley where they reached the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

Tony Armitage is appointed as Development Team Manager. He has held youth and assistant manager posts at Colney Heath, Tring Athletic, and Langford. UEFA B licensed Matt Pring will join the existing Senior Management team of Gary Burkett (Assistant First Team Manager), Darren Mitchell (First Team Coach) and the recently appointed Brad Gillham as Goalkeeping Coach. Additionally, Richard 'Dickie' Smith will join as first team assistant. Dickie is a level 2 coach and has management SSML experience as assistant with Tring Athletic and Crawley Green.

Due to the re-structuring of the leagues at our level, we have been reprieved from relegation and will be playing in the Premier Division next season.
